Phil Saunders alive and well playing the Jb's stage Limetree festival Saturday August 27th 2011

Hello, I am Phil Saunders. aka Pig Sick Phil

Singer, guitarist, harmonica player and writer of original blues.

I have made my living for the last few years gigging and busking around Cumbria and the north west of England.

I have busked at festivals many times and always received a warm and enthusiastic reception from the punters.

" your the best thing I've heard all festival." "It's great to here some real blues." "you should be on the main stage."

I play guitar, harmonica, sing and use both feet on my home made stomp box, all at the same time!
so I make as big a sound as a band but with a short set up time.
(imagine Sea Sick Steve could play great harmonica!)

There are six original songs and some video footage at http://www.reverbnation.com/philsaunders I would really appreciate it if you had a listen. (I have also attached one cover)

I also cover songs by Little Walter,Muddy Waters,Bo Diddley,Sonny Boy Williamson,T-bone Walker,Jimmy Reed and The Rolling Stones and others.

I have played at many local festivals and venues including Solfest, Brampton Live, Sedbergh folkfest, Macfest, Zeffirellis Jazz Bar Ambleside, The Brewery Arts Centre Kendal and the Carnegie Hall Workington. I have also played support for Rory Mcleod, Rod Clements(lindisfarne) and It Bites!

I have an upbeat, driving sound which is contempary and original yet authentic and rootsy. I always get a good reaction from audiences and inevitably get them to dance and usually sing along.

I would be interested in coming to busk at your festival and was wondering how many people you were expecting. A street performer creates a great atmosphere at a festival and blues music always sounds good where it began,on the streets.

I HAVE BECOME A MUSICIAN, ON A BAD DAY IT'S NOT AS BAD AS THE WORST JOBS I'VE HAD AND ON A GOOD ONE IT'S BETTER THAN THE BEST JOBS I'VE HAD.
ITS LIKE LIGHTING A FIRE BY RUBBING STICKS TOGETHER. NEVER SURE IF IT'S GOING TO WORK, BUT WHEN IT DOES IT IS ENDLESSLY FASCINATING AND KEEPS YOU WARM.
